Shopping at Gran Canaria Airport

Gran Canaria airport has a good selection of shops within the terminal building. Most of which are found in the departures lounge which is a passenger only zone. You will only find two shops in the public zone, one being the Supermercado Spar, a small supermarket, and the other is being Hudson News, which sell newspapers, magazines and electrical goods.

In the passenger-only zone, there is a range of shops from jewellery to fashion accessories, and newsagents to children's toys. There is plenty to keep everyone occupied for the hour or two you will be waiting in the terminal. You will find a second Hudson News store with a larger range of magazines and a large area that sells books, a Swarovski store if you are interested in purchasing some jewellery and Regalos y Souvenirs for an authentic Spanish souvenir. If you are travelling with children, be sure to check out Tutti Frutti. They sell a range of sweets and toys for children.

The most popular shop is the duty-free store. This is the largest store in the terminal and is run by World Duty Free. You cannot miss this store, as you have to walk through it before you can enter the departures hall. This is the best place to buy alcohol, cigarettes, perfume and much more.

If you are buying duty-free and duty-paid goods, ensure you are first aware of the allowances and rules for taking goods into your country of destination. If you are flying to the UK, a good resource is www.gov.uk/duty-free-goods. You will be able to find everything you can and cannot do.
