Bars, Cafés & Restaurants

Gran Canaria airport has a number of places to eat and drink with a selection of cafes, bars, fast food eateries and restaurants. In the public zone of the airport, there are four places; two cafes, one bar and one self-service restaurant. You can enjoy a great cup of coffee or choose from a selection of hot or cold products at Caffé Ritazza, which is located close to the check-in desks, a cup of tea and a cake from Surf Cross or a beer on the terrace at Tropical. You can also help yourself to a wide range of salads, soups, stews, or grilled meats and fish at The Garden.

In the passenger-only zone, there is an even large choice, with many well-known brands such as Burger King, O'Learys, Starbucks and Upper Crust. There are actually two Upper Crust sandwich shops, with one having a spectacular overhanging balcony, so have a baguette whilst watch aircraft movements.

For a good-sized meal, O'Learys is the place to visit. There is again two of these restaurants in the terminal, one on the first floor and one on the second floor. In either one, there is a wide variety of starters, grilled meats, salads and sandwiches in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

One thing to note is that food and drinks are not cheap at the airport, with all airports are notorious for this. If you are travelling on a budget, it would be best to eat before you arrive. You will find, for example, fizzy drinks are nearly twice as expensive and a plain baguette will set you back in the region of €7.00. Even prices at Burger King are more expensive than on the street. However, all the food served is to a good standard and the environment is very clean and pleasant.
